I always get asked a lot about what apps are good to use for blogging, for Instagram and just in general really so I said I’d pop together what 10 apps I can’t live without. I absolutely love photography and have always really loved taking photos. I don’t own a proper camera at the moment as I just find them super heavy and when I did have one I didn’t use it that much. I currently have an iPhone 10 but I definitely want to invest in the new iPhone soon.
I use my Gmail App and WhatsApp both loads but didn’t want to include them in my list. Booking.com was an app once heavily used but given the times we are in it’s not being used as much anymore sadly. Booking.com for me is the best app for booking getaways, staycations, and trips. You can build up points and levels and get discounts then for using it.
Before I get into the blog post, I just want to encourage you all, if you haven’t already to download the Cover Tracker App. This is great for contact tracing and no longer drains your battery like it did when it first launched.
In terms of other apps I use, they are all easily bought or downloaded for free on the App Store. I am just using ones for iPhone so apologies if these don’t work for Android too. All apps are quite easy to use and I thought myself how to use them. So here they are…..
This is definitely my most used app along with many others no doubt. I actually deleted my Twitter, Linked In and Facebook as I just wasn’t using any of them and it was pointless having them. I did love Facebook but in recent years I found myself using it less and less. Instagram is by far my favourite social media. I did enjoy Tik Tok in lockdown but way prefer Instagram.
This is actually the app linked to Instagram where you can put photos back to back. So many people ask how I put them back to back and it’s this app I use. You mirror your image with it and it looks the same on both sides then. It’s so easy to use and can add up to 6 photos into the one square for Instagram.
UNUM basically allows you to see your Instagram feed in the same format as your actually Instagram, if that makes sense. If you look below, you have empty boxes above your already uploaded Instagram posts. You can add and choose which photo to put up next on Instagram. You can see if the colours suit and if the photo sits well beside the previous one you have uploaded. It’s so useful and I have been using it quite a lot.
This app is great and I use this for three things in photos – detailing and blurring. The detail part allows you to run your finger over a certain part of the photo you might want to focus more on for example making the detail of a dress stand out a little more if it’s blurry in the photo or a building either. Another thing I use it for is blurring people out in the background if random people are in a photo and lastly I used it for my silhouette photo I took of my bump when I was pregnant, I used this to darken the sides of the photo.
This is another app that myself and Sean couldn’t live without. We used this on Lily and I spoke about it a lot. I recommended it to loads of my friends also and they find it great. So it allows you to log your babies feeds, nappy changes and sleep. What is even better is, you can download on your phone and your partners, log into the app using the same details on both and you can both keep track of it. So if you’re up for a night feed and your partner is sleeping, he will be able to see when he wakes up how much the baby had. Lifesaver!
Tile is a life saver! No seriously it is. It’s the best thing I have invested in. You connect the tile to your keys or pop it in your wallet. If you loose your keys you can find it through the app on your phone and same if you loose your wallet. What is even better is, if you loose your phone and have your keys you can press the button on your tile and it will call your phone. GENIUS! It’s brilliant and especially great if you have a toddler who loves to hide your keys around the place 😉 You can buy it HERE.
If you are an influencer or blogger, I highly recommend this for creating your Instagram stories. I’ve been using this now for a year and it’s brilliant. I use this app mainly if I am doing paid work as it looks amazing when it’s all together.
This app I spoke about recently that helps manage stress and anxiety especially for parents and children. It’s so useful and I’ve been using now for a couple of months. Their podcasts are great and really calming too. I would say I use it maybe 2 to 3 times a week depending on how I need it. Definitely a great app for anyone at the moment trying to cope with the many stresses of being a parent.
I wasn’t going to put this in…..and then I said ‘Aoibhe come on’. JustEat is the handiest way to order food in my local area now. It’s a bit too easy, your card details are saved so it’s actually super quick every time, you can request contactless delivery and mention if you have any allergies. I think it quite possibly could be my top 3 most used apps 😉 But sure look. The selection is too good to say no.
So there you have it, all the apps I love to use, some for everyday, some for blogging, for baby and life in general. If you use any of them after I recommend and find them good, DM me and let me know.
Love Aoibhe xxx
