9 MONTH Pregnancy Update: Covid Baby Shower, All Packed & The End Is Near

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all well, had a fabulous weekend and a lovely Father’s Day on Sunday. We had a lovely BBQ in my dads with our family and it was so nice. It was the first time I’d seen my dads partner since February because of lockdown so it was such a nice day. If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve been a bit quiet the past two weeks mainly because as I mentioned in a recent post, I’ve wanted to enjoy these last few weeks being the three of us and also Lily & I. I’ve been really emotional about it just because I know it’s never just going to be the two of us again. I’ll always have to divide my attention but I’m super excited for her to have a baby brother like I did growing up.
So yes the countdown is on. 38 weeks this week and finally I feel ready to go. I definitely don’t think it went quick although I know a lot of people thought it did for me. I didn’t talk about being pregnant as much this pregnancy either. I was definitely conscious of people following who weren’t pregnant. Here we are 38 weeks later and already nearly July. The year itself has gone so fast. I was reflecting on the past year of my life June 2020 to June 2019 & I have to say I’ll be glad to put that behind me. It wasn’t an amazing year for me for soooo many reasons off the camera so hoping that the rest of this year will be a happy one with our new arrival. We cannot wait to meet him.
So if you’re following me since Lily you’ll know we got a lot of our stuff from Tony Kealy’s. Some was a collaboration and others we bought all full price. We also went in and both double of most stuff to have in Sean’s parents house too for when I went back to work. We had so much stuff already from Lily so we really didn’t need much at all. They are doing a one to one appointment service still which was really great. We got two Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs, one for newborn and one for Lily. These we bought and then the Out N About Double Nipper Stroller is a collaboration. As always I will tell you exactly what is & what isn’t a collaboration to make it fully transparent. In terms of other items we are using from when we had Lily, we have the Tutti Bambini Bedside Crib & Cocoonababy also for the baby. We have this amazing rocking chair I got in Tony Kealy’s also which was a lifesaver. I’ll have to check do they still have it and I’ll link below. People go so crazy on their first baby and buy so much but we didn’t. I just stuck to what we needed. Only thing we will have to get is a second monitor. I know Lily is older but I still would rather have a monitor in both rooms. None of the links below are affiliated just to let you know.
I’ll link all these products below:
Out N About Double Nipper
Stokke Tripp Trapp Newborn
Tutti Bambini Bedside Crib (we had this from Lily)
It actually wasn’t me, it was Sean that said we should do this. We recreated the same silhouette shot of me pregnant with Lily and with this baby. I thought it was really cool to look back on. I personally feel I was a lot higher on Lily, this bump is super low. I was also more outwards on Lily where’s this pregnancy I’m rounder. Some people said there was no difference but I thought there was for sure. I feel it anyway. My boobs also look better second time round due to the breast reduction last year. A lot of questions in about have they changed, are they different and the simple answer is no they haven’t. They are in no way as saggy as they were on Lily and low. They are much better now thankfully.
If you’ve followed me on Instagram for a while, you will know that myself and my friend Jenny were due to have our Covid Baby Shower back on the 10th of May together. We were supposed to have it in The Baths in Clontarf, a place we both love but sadly it didn’t go ahead in the end. We had already ordered treats from Treat Boutique and balloons from So Trendy Balloons so we got them anyway. As we both said, we can all celebrate after babies are born. Jenny had her little baby boy Axel only last week. I’m so thrilled for her and Gary.
So many people asking what I’m doing for his nursery so maybe you’re new followers. I didn’t know if I was having a baby boy or baby girl on Lily so we did the nursery unisex so made it like a jungle. I absolutely loved it so much so we are just changing the name plaque & couple little other bits then to make it like new for the baby. We have a new cot we bought on offer before Christmas so we’ll dismantle the one Lily is currently in & that will go to my mums or my dads for her. This is the nursery at the moment which I just love so much. You can read more about it HERE.
Cherishing every moment with Lily now as it gets closer and closer. I’ve been quite emotional as I mentioned on Instagram last week about it being our final weeks together just us. Obviously I’ve been at home with her all of lockdown and we’ve been doing everything together. She wants Mammy so much more now and it’s all about Mammy for a change. Normally it’s all Daddy 😉 I can’t believe it’s so close now. Our little family will be complete soon enough.
I realise there hasn’t been as much maternity styling as I had hoped mainly because I lived in PJS & loungewear so much during lockdown. I will compile all my maternity style posts from this baby and from Lily. It might give some people so maternity outfit ideas. I definitely found dressing my bump this pregnancy so much easier than on Lily. I knew my shape a lot more and knew what suited/what didn’t. I mainly shopped on Boohoo Maternity, ASOS and then went up a size or two in other stores. ASOS Maternity is fabulous and ASOS also do a brand called Glamourous Bloom which I love. The dress on the left is by this brand. Both of these dresses were so cheap too. One on the right was £20 and one on the left was £12 so you can definitely find some maternity bargains on ASOS for sure.
I’ll get that maternity style blog post up this week.
Nervous, excited, happy, anxious…..just a couple of the feelings right now with what lies ahead. If you’re a long time follower you will know how nervous I got in the final weeks of having Lily. I know that it’s very normal and my friends have reminded me of this so much. I can’t help but feel nervous going into the birth and although I am familiar with what happens this time round, I don’t think it makes it any easier at all. Praying that everything all goes ok and smoothly so for now it’s about trying to relax as much as I possibly can with a crazy toddler and enjoy these last few weeks.
So that rounds up my last ever pregnancy update guys 🙂 Next time I’m updating you will be when baby is here. I said I would do a blog post on WHAT TO EXPECT: When you have a Newborn + a Toddler for anyone in similar situations so I’ll do that after 4-5 weeks and get it up. I hope you’ve enjoyed keeping up with this pregnancy.
Have a lovely week 🙂
Love Aoibhe xxx
