Le Drunch at The Marker Hotel, Dublin

As you all may have saw from my Snapchat (aoibhedev89) last Sunday we had LE DRUNCH which is a mix of lunch & dinner at the Marker Hotel in Dublin. I absolutely love The Marker Hotel, everything from the decor to the service, the cocktails to the food, it certainly doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t yet been to The Marker, I highly recommend you go.

So I had a look at the menu before going in as I just love brunch/drunch anyway & couldn’t wait until I got there. They have your typical ‘brunch’ style food like eggs & avocado so if you are not up for having a steak or fish then you still have those options too 😉

For those of you that may not know, The Marker is a stunning hotel located in Grand Canal. The decor is quirky & chic and don’t even get me started on their incredible spa. The spa is one of my favourite parts of the hotel along with the rooftop bar. This opens in the summer months and is the perfect spot for cocktails with the girls on a summer’s evening. During Le Drunch, there is a DJ playing tunes so the atmosphere is so good. There was a few couples but then a few groups of people also. It would definitely be something fun to do with your girlfriends on a Sunday.

It was 2pm so we started with a Bellini (prosecco, watermelon, peach & passionfruit) and it was delicious. I ended up having four as they were so good. Andrew got an O’Hara’s Pale Ale as he’s obsessed. We had decided to go as it was my birthday the previous week and it was fully booked as it was Valentine’s weekend. The service was so quick considering how busy it was. The brought us over some delicious fresh bread before our starter. To start, I had the American Pancake Stack and Andrew got the Tiger Prawns. Andrew is obsessed with prawns but I just can’t do them. They personally make me gag but he loved every bite. The American Pancake Stack is a MUST! They were actually divine and the bacon was so crispy.

We had some more drinks & the came our main. The presentation of the entire Drunch was beautiful. I love when there is such detail of the presentation, it really makes such a difference. Andrew ordered the ‘John Stone’ Butcher’s Secret for main and I had the Crushed Avocado. The steak came with champ mash, shallots, tomatoes, portobello mushrooms & peppercorn sauce. I tasted it and holy lord is all I will say!! The steak was cooked to perfection & don’t even get me started on the champ. At that stage we were quite full so I was glad I only ordered the Crushed Avocado. I absolutely love anything remotely associated with avocado

I have to say from start to finish, everything was so tasty. I absolutely loved every aspect of the meal. It’s something I would highly recommend to do with a partner or bunch of friends on a Sunday. It only happens from 2-5pm and can book up quite quickly so make sure to get a booking in advance 😉 I can assure you won’t be disappointed in the slightest.

One word of advice, make sure you go HUNGRY as you will want to try everything. It’s such a great menu, I’ll definitely be back for my brothers birthday next month.

Happy Drunching 🙂
