My SNOW Travel Beauty Essentials

As you all know I leave in today for the glorious snowy Alps. Generally there is not as much snow as there is at this time of the year. There has been quite heavy falls over the past month which has been great for us obviously. Over the coming months, you will see quite a lot of posts surrounding my travels etc. I have always dreamt of doing a ski season and to be finally able to do it is…A DREAM! Another tick on the bucket list. My snow travel essentials are beauty products and what I personally won’t be leaving behind this Wednesday. These are my must haves for the season ahead.

So let’s get down to it.

P20 Suncream

The number one thing I won’t dare leave behind. The sun is extremely strong up the mountain and you have a higher risk from harmful UV rays than on your summer holidays. At higher altitudes for example, at the top of a Mountain, the air is thinner and cleaner so it less able to filter the harmful UV rays which cause sunburn. Suncream is SUPER important. On my last ski trip, I packed my P20 in factor 30 and this trip is no different. I like P20 because it’s not greasy, dried in quick and lasts up to 10hrs. It is also water resistant and has UVA & UVB protection in it. It’s the only one I choose to use when on the slopes. You know when you just find one that works? And you just stick to it. I didn’t get burnt one bit last time.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Protectant

Another extremely important product is a lip protection. I use this every nearly in Ireland so it’s obviously going to be a must have in the Alps.  The lip protectant moisturises and softens the lips to leave them feeling so smooth. It also leaves a slight sheen on the lips too. The product contains vitamin E and has the same healing properties as the Eight Hour classic products in just a stick format. The perfect product for dry chapped lips or to protect your lips against the sun and environment.

Glam Glow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment

This mask has been a lifesaver since I became cabin crew. I cannot live without it. Despite the expensive price, I am glad I made the splurge. This is better used as an overnight mask because you will wake up to plump & moisturised skin. Simply apply it on your face, head to sleep, and in the morning you will wake up with a super hydrated face. Now I’ve heard people complaining about this mask saying it doesn’t work but for me it does. Everyone is different I think. You can use it as more of a traditional mask that can be applied, left on for 20 minutes, and either rinse off with water or tissued off.The mask actually smells like sweet coconut and has a mild tingling sensation on the face after you put it on. This will be a weekly treatment that I will do whilst living out there.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Body Lotion

A dream product! The feel, the smell, the results!!!!! All the ingredients in this are ethically and sustainably sourced too, Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoï Oil, infused with Tiaré flower petals. These raw & natural ingredients give your skin deep moisture. It contains sweet almond oil which is really soothing on the skin. People forget about applying body cream when on a skin holiday. I use this straight after a shower. A deeply nourishing body moisturiser that absorbs into the skin really quick leaving your skin feeling super soft.

Dove Derma Spa Goodness Handcream

I’ve been using this for a long time now. It’s the business! Another product I won’t be going a day without in the Alps. This leaves your hands like velvet. It has a creamy vanilla, musk and coconut smell which I adore too. They like to say that this cream is like an at home beauty treatment. It soaks into the skin immediately so your not left with slippy hands like most handcreams. A feeling nourishing product that won’t leave my side this winter.

Radox Muscle Soak Bath Therapy

After a hard day on the slopes, you are tired and need nothing more than a bath. Now you can of course fill the bath with bubbles and lie there however for me it’s all about the muscle soak. Bath salt that contains thyme which is known for helping soothe aching muscles. You pour it into the bath whilst running water and it will dissolve into the water. The feeling of getting into the bath is divine, then coming out your pains should have gone almost fully. I find this is a great way to relax at home too. I am on my feet so much that sometimes it’s nice to just have a bath rather than a shower.

Image Skincare Hydrating Repair Creme

A super hydrating creme that soaks into your skin in seconds. The product itself is for ageing, dry/dehydrated and sensitive skin. As it contains, lots of vitamins the formula is rich. You will immediately fall in love with the scent which is a strong orange like smell being the Vitamin C. Ive been using this daily for nearly a year now and I just love their Vital C range. I also use their Hydrating cleanser which is a must have too. I have 100% seen a difference in my skin from using these two products. My skin is softer but most importantly feels hydrated.
