I could sit here in front of my computer and lie to you saying I have had a full skincare routine for ages but I haven’t. It’s only been in the past 6-8 months that I have started using proper products on my skin. I think it’s my age and I’m just freaking out about getting wrinkly. I have been using some really great products the past few months & I really wanted to share them with you. This post isn’t sponsored, it’s just me sharing my personal favourites.
I have a few different products that I chop & change.
CLEANSER: I first take my makeup off with L’Oreal 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil. It’s for some people and not others. It removes your makeup SUPER quick which I love. I also from time to time use Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water as it’s another quick makeup removal for those in a rush. The L’Oreal Cleansing Oil takes off most of my makeup but then I use the Image Hydrating Cleanser to really leave my skin feeling great. I massage it into my face when I’m in the shower and leave it on for about 1minute. It smells divine, is really soothing and feels so hydrating on my skin. It is recommended for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin so suits me perfect. I first tried this when I got an Image Signature Facial in Mudpie Beauty in Dundrum. Now I can’t live without it.
MOISTURISER: The minute I tried this, I totally got rid of my other moisturisers. This little jar is one of my favourite moisturisers ever. It’s called Vital C Hydrating Repair Crème and its so nourishing on the skin. It’s also suited for sensitive, dry/dehydrated and sun damaged skin. It repairs ageing skin and hydrates the skin at the same time. I only apply this in the evening.
EXFOLIATOR: I have been a fan of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years now. It does the job and really exfoliates my skin without being too harsh. I use this everyday in the shower. It’s not that expensive which I like even more and it’s accessible to everyone. You don’t always have to use expensive products to get the best results so remember that.
Today I tried Nip & Fab’s Glycolic Scrub for the first time. I have to say I was impressed with how it left my skin. I think I will use this more weekly rather than daily as it’s quite tough on the skin. The grains are harsh but afterwards your skin is just WOW! So maybe more of a weekly thing with this particular one but I definitely found it super on my skin.
SERUM: There are two serums I find really work for my skin.
Image Illuma Intense Lightening Serum is an oil free serum. It’s packed with Vitamin C & grapeseed oil (you will just want to smell it all day). It gives you a really bright complexion and when used over time you can really see a different in your skin. I always think my skin glows when I put this on. I’ve only been using this for a while now but already I find my skin is looking more radiant than usual.
The other serum is the Forever Living Sonya Skincare Aloe Nourishing Serum with White Tea. My friend bought me this for Christmas as a present as she knew I wanted to try it for ages. DIVINE is the only word I can use for this. Leaves my skin so so soft. I could massage it into my skin all day. This is more of a pampering serum I feel where as the Image serum is for giving you the perfect complexion.
MASK/TREATMENT: I actually use a detox mask and a treatment.
The two I’ve been using are the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask and the Glamglow ThristyMud Hydrating Treatment. I’m sure your noticing a pattern now. My skin is quite dry/dehydrated so using hydrating products on my skin is key. I lost my big jar of the ThirstyMud (no idea where I left it) so I bought a travel size in Sephora when I was there. The ThirstyMud promises to give deep hydration on the skin and this it DOES! It’s a gel so doesn’t block your pores at all. It does tingle a little so expect that if you buy it and also smells kind of minty. You can leave it on for 10-20mins depending on if I’ve time to spare or not. I like to put it on for longer as it really soaks into the skin then.
The second mask is totally different. The Instant Detox Mask from Caudalie is a much thicker consistency and hardens on the face. It can really only be left on for 10-15mins on the skin. It draws out toxins from any clogged pores you may have. It’s great to use before a night out as it has papaya enzymes that give your skin an instant boost of radiance. I love it. So as you can see both are extremely different and do different things. It’s nice to have a couple but you don’t want anymore than that as then it becomes too much for the skin.
I have yet to start using a lip or eye cream but I think that will definitely be my next step. I really want to try Image Ormedic Balancing Lip Enhancement Complex. I also think I will try the Image Enzyme Masque too. I’ve read incredible things about them both. You can read all about Image Skincare and find out stockists nationwide HERE.
Hope you liked this post and maybe you’ll love the products as much as me 🙂
