My trip home..Perth-Singapore-Dubai-Dublin

As you can all imagine I have been so busy seeing everyone, catching up that I haven’t actually had time to post this. I actually wrote this post from my Emirates flight from Dubai to Dublin. So here it goes…

The last leg. The last flight. The finally road home. I’m actually getting emotional writing this. I don’t know why but it’s just crazy to think that I’ll see my family and friends in 4hours. It’s been a hard year and to know I’ll BE HOME so soon is just so amazing. Firstly, I want to thank each and everyone of you that read, commented, mailed, texted in relation to my Australia post a couple of weeks ago. I was incredibly overwhelmed with the response from you all. My website crashed there was that much traffic so I’m absolutely delighted. If you haven’t read it,Β [button link=”” color=”#ae40af”]READ IT HERE[/button]

Anyway back to the post, we are at 33,000ft I’m sitting here with my Dr.Dre beats on listening to Run This Town by JayZ, Rihanna & Kanye. I love that song it just has such a good beat. We just left Dubai and I can honestly say it’s 100% one of my favourite places in the world. The service we received in the Waldorf Astoria on the Palm was out of this world. It was a special holiday given that we have just got engaged and Andrew was actually initially planning on proposing here before he chose Sydney. Last November, we stayed at Atlantis and I can honestly say the quality, service and staff at the Waldorf was by far much more 5*. From the check-in to the stunning room, the food to every staff we met at the Waldorf it was just worth every cent. The Waldorf could not have been more lovely and generous to us, upgrading us also. We were just thrilled with the entire stay. We want to say a massive thank you to all the staff, you are an absolute credit to the Waldorf. We have agreed that the Waldorf will now be our home from home when we come to Dubai. We are already looking at our dates for coming back soon. Here’s some of our photos from the Waldorf and our stay in Dubai.

The Waldorf kindly left us cupcakes, roses and a cake to say congratulations on our engagement.

Their robes are to die for.

This was our view from our room..YES it was out of this world!! The city, the palm and Atlantis.

Pool day

This was the Ice Bar in Dubai where everything was made of ice. I had a bit of a shoe change before going in though πŸ˜€

And of course my trip to Dubai wouldn’t be the same without a trip to Ski Dubai in Mall of Emirates where you can ski and snowboard indoors in -4 degrees with real snow.

Out for dinnerΒ

A visit to the VOGUE cafe in Dubai Mall

But one things for sure I can’t wait to come back Waldorf πŸ™‚

Before landing in Dubai, Singapore was our first stop. Andrew had never really thought about going to Singapore but it’s always been somewhere I’ve wanted to go. I was surprised for sure. I had this expectation in my head I suppose. The food is out of this world and the hotel was really beautiful but for some reason I just didn’t get that feeling. There was SO MANY people. Everywhere was crowded and the humidity was intense. We stayed at the W Hotel Sentosa Cove which is about 20mins away from the main shopping area. It was a bit of a pain in terms of taxis etc but we made it work. We weren’t there for long, just three days so was ok for a short stay but if you were staying there longer then it’s best to just stay on Sentosa Island itself where Universal is. W Hotels are a really quirky hotel chain with edgy interior. They have W Hotels all around the world and a friend of mine Celine recently stayed in the W hotel in Barcelona & said it was amazing. Between cultural cooking classes, shopping and visiting Universal we had so much to do so we were never bored thats for sure. Would I go back to Singapore? No not in a hurry. Not because of the hotel but because some places I get that been there done that feeling & don’t have the urge to return, Singapore was just one of those places.

Here’s some of our photos from our stay in Singapore.

Cause a leg/pool photo is always standard πŸ˜‰

Our cooking class was done in Chinatown. We went with a company called Food Playground and it was well worth the money. It was such a great thing to do together and now we are experts at Chicken Satay πŸ˜‰

MY FAVOURITE!!!! I love theme parks. Universal Singapore is much smaller than the likes of Universal Orlando so a half a day is definitely enough here.

We had evening drinks facing the Marina Bay Sands and then when it got dark we headed up to the Ce La Vie bar on the top of the hotel for quite possibly the best view of the whole of Singapore.

Then obviously before landing in Singapore, Perth was of course was where we started our journey home. Saying goodbye toΒ  the close friends we have made in Australia was extremely tough. I never thought in a million years it would have been as hard as it was. To Zoe, Courtney, Perin, Danica and Danielle a MASSIVE thank you for making our stay in Australia so great. The send off you guys gave Andrew and I was really special & we will always remember that. You are all beautiful people inside and out, I want you to know that. Perin and Danica, thank you for coming to the airport to send us off that was so sweet. Can’t wait to see you next year πŸ˜‰ And Danielle ohhh Danielle. My one in a million pal who Andrew and I will be forever friends with. I already can’t wait to see you in 7weeks not that I’m counting or anything. Amsterdam here we come πŸ™‚ and of course our road trip around Ireland. I am so delighted we have become such great friends.

Anyway the trip from Perth to Dublin has been one to remember. It’s amazing how much can change in the space of a year. I’m home now, enjoying life and looking to secure a new job in the fashion industry but all I know is I’m VERY excited as I’ve an engagement party to plan. I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted on the organising of an engagement party.

Love Aoibhe xxx
