I have a degree in Marketing with Event Management. I started this degree because I always wanted to be a wedding planner. Maybe one day I will be but for now I am happy working on planes.
I was an air hostess when I was 19 but gave up after 5 weeks as I was afraid of the doors. Bit ironic that 7 years later, I went back to work as an air hostess. And before someone asks….no the doors no longer scare me.
I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa for homeless charity Focus Ireland. My dad and brother bet €300 each that I wouldn’t do it. This made me want to do it even more. Just to prove them wrong. And I DID IT!
I’m obsessed with snowboarding. I have my own board and wish it would snow everyday here so I can use it. I’ve been doing it since I’m 18. I just love it. There is nothing better than boarding down the mountain on a sunny clear blue day. I didn’t go last year as I was pregnant and Lily was too small this year.
I adore travelling. I’ve visited 27 counties and counting. Travel to me is the most amazing thing in the world. I want to fill my passport full of visas & stamps with my family and make memories everywhere we go. Last year I went to some incredible places from Malta to Lisbon, New York to LA, Dubai to San Francisco. The most incredible places I’ve ever been have to be either The Maldives or South Africa. In the next 12 months, I have a few on my list which include Las Vegas, Finland, Hawaii, Thailand, Greece and Croatia.
I volunteered in South Africa in 2012 and it changed my life. I stayed there for a month & it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I worked in a school with disadvantaged children and it was so rewarding. I hope that someday I’ll return to the small town and see the children again.
I miss my nana & grandad everyday. They were two of the most wonderful people and they were everything to me. I think about them every single day. I was closer to them than I was my own parents. My grandad was the reason I started blogging. He encouraged me to write from a young age and I always looked up to him.
I love the sea and water. I love everything got to do with it. When I went to Atlantis in Dubai, I sat and starred at the huge aquarium for hours on end. It was magical and all I wanted to do was be in there with them. I spend my summers on my dad’s boat with my family and it’s so much fun.
I have swam with dolphins and dived with sharks. I love anything with adrenaline. Some people would think I was a boy sometimes. I love doing anything that gets your heart racing.
I am a qualified lifeguard. I used to be a swimming instructor for young children when I was younger. I done it every Sunday & absolutely loved doing it. I sometimes wish I still done it as the children were so much fun and enjoyed coming every Sunday.
I am absolutely terrified of fire, even matches. Anything remotely got to do with fire I am out that door. It just terrifies me so much. I also hate plug sockets too. I am freaked by them because I got electrocuted as a child and been scared of them ever since.
Musicals are my guilty pleasure. I love going to see them. Fame and Grease are my ultimate favourites. I’ve never been to a Broadway show but it’s definitely on my list.
I have owned 3 Mini Coopers – Black, Cream and Blue. They are like little go karts, I just love them. I really appreciate a good car even though I currently own a Fiat. I have a Fiat 500 called Dympna and god love her she’s in bits. On my last trip to Dubai, there was just so many cars at our hotel. It’s literally a complete car lover’s paradise. My next dream car would be Mercedes AMG A Class.
I am addicted to avocado, diet coke, fizzy jellies, chorizo and Tayto crisps. They are just all too good especially Tayto crisps. I can’t get enough of them. They have to be cheese & onion too, no other flavour.
I love organising events. I’ve organised three very successful fashion shows for charity and lots of other events. I enjoy the buzz of doing them along with raising thousands of euro for charity. I’ve raised over €12,000 for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, Console and Make a Wish.
I love going for Afternoon Tea. My nana was obsessed with having afternoon tea and it’s something I got from her. She always had a sweet tooth. I try to go for Afternoon Tea in every new city I go to visit. I am DYING to go to Sketch in London. It’s been somewhere I’ve wanted to go for a long time so I literally cannot wait.
I used to work in Brown Thomas for over 5 years as a manager before I became cabin crew and I loved working there. I loved being surrounded by luxury fashion and shoes.
I adore baking. I’ve got so many brilliant recipes for dishes I’ve cooked that my mam always says I should have my own cookbook. Maybe I will someday but for now I’m happy just baking away in my kitchen making Oreo Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Brownies, Mars Bar squares and much more. Here’s the link to my baking section on my website HERE.
Here are some of my favourites:
Favourite drink – Prosecco
Favourite colour – Turquoise
Favourite food – Italian
Favourite city – Dubai
Favourite movie – Hidden Figures
Favourite actor – Kiefer Sutherland
Favourite shop – Zara
I have climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, done two skydives one in Ireland and one in Cape Town South Africa and walked around the edge of the CNN tower in Toronto twice now (below) I’m not sure what’s next….but I’ll find something for sure.
Hope you enjoyed learning some new things about me that you might have not already known.
