Hope you all had a good start to your week. For the purpose of anyone reading this abroad, Ireland is HOT right now. We are experiencing very hot weather and as much as I adore it, being 35 weeks pregnant in this heat is a struggle to say the least. Yesterday I had my baby shower to celebrate little Baby Corr. I’m absolutely dying to know if it’s a boy or girl at this stage. I packed my hospital bag today so it’s finally done and ready to go. I’ve literally a couple of bits to add over the next few days but it’s ready at a moments notice if needed.
I had such a nice afternoon yesterday, it really was so lovely. I was surrounded by lots of friends & family & it was just so nice to have everyone in the same room. We were missing about 12 others but sure they will no doubt be at the christening. I adore afternoon tea but I know some people don’t, so I chose a brunch style event. We had the brunch in Ely Bar & Grill. I’d been before and loved it so thought why not? It was downstairs in the vaults so was very private and we had our own area. There was 20 of us so nice an intimate just how I wanted. I took a photo of the menu below. We started with MOM-mosa’s then a choice of brunch followed by OH-Baby cake. The guys looking after us Orlaith and Ronan were so great, they really were. NOTE: I didn’t get any discount to say that 😀
The event decor was styled by the beautiful Sharon and her team at Frog Prince. Sharon has the most amazing eye for detail. I told Sharon all I wanted was babies breath, white and greenery, that was all. I left everything else up to her. I trusted her eye and knew she would work her magic. When I walked into the room, I was in love. It was just so stunning and I was so happy with how it looked. She even managed to get me Baby Corr balloons.
My cake was by Jen at Cupcakes & Counting. If you are following me a while, you will know I always get my cakes from Jen. Not only is Jen super talented at what she does but her cakes are so delicious. This cake did not disappoint at all. It was a soft chocolate sponge with buttercream icing. There was barely any cake left at all and of course Sean & I polished it off last night.
I had the amazing Corinne at Treat Boutique Dublin do me lots of personalised sweets with Baby Corr & Sean and Aoibhe – parents to be on them. From babies bottles to little tubs of blue/pink jellies and more, Corinne gave everyone a sweet treat. These were all blue/pink which were so cute, I loved them. They are such a fabulous idea for any event, corporate event or party. Corinne can do candy tables too and can be all personalised too.
I also gifted everyone these beautiful lollies from Fancy Pops. They are lollipops with edible flowers inside. They are so gorgeous and a really nice party favour. I fell in love with these when I saw them.
Lastly I had my balloons done by Confetti Balloons Ireland. They done a cute balloon hoop cluster with baby on it, a giant white balloon with Aoibhe’s Baby Shower on it and clear balloons with greenery inside for the table. All of this kept it with the theme and I thought they were so fabulous. Everyone commented on them too. I hadn’t got balloons off them before but I will definitely order again for sure.
I cannot thank everyone enough for all their kind gifts. I was just so happy to have everyone there really more than anything.
Love Aoibhe xxx
