This is a post that I love doing every month on TSO. As a beauty blogger I get sent so many fabulous beauty products to try every week. I wanted to compile this into one post for you guys so that you could read what I really thought of each product. I know so many beauty bloggers that just say how great everything is but let’s face it…….not everything can be great.
Let’s see what got a thumbs up and a thumbs down this month?
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Body Lotion
THIS IS HEAVEN!!!!! The feel of an oil but a look of a lotion. That is the only way to describe it. I absolutely love anything that has coconut in it anyway but this was soooo good. I bought a sample of it to try going over to Amsterdam last month and have since bought the big version and fell in love. Highly recommend this as a moisturiser for after the shower. The lotion contains coconut oil, monoï oil and sweet almond oil. All three of these sooth, comfort, hydrate and soften the skin. It’s also parabens and sulfate free.
Cocoa Brown Kind Shampoo & Conditioner
The CB Kind range certainly has my seal of approval. As someone who wears hair extensions, it’s so important that I not only have a kind shampoo for the extensions but one that is sulphate free. There are not that many brands that are sulphate free but luckily Marissa Carter to the rescue. The shampoo and conditioner are not only great for your hair & skin but they have the gorgeous scent of the CB tan. The PH level of these products won’t effect your tan either which is even better 😉 Allowing your tan to fade evenly 😀 Both products are free of parabens, alcohol and formaldehyde.
Remington REVEAL Wet & Dry Rotating Body Brush
As you all know I have been reviewing some of Remington’s products over the past few months. Next up was their REVEAL Wet & Dry Rotating Body Brush. I had never used something like this before so I was excited to try it. I had always exfoliated by using mitts and exfoliator so these let me tell you is MUCH EASIER. It comes with two different heads one for dry use and one for wet use to get the perfect skin you want. I used both just to see what my thoughts are for both, but personally I prefer it in the shower but that’s just me. You use the brush in circular motions putting pressure around the areas you want. I used it on my whole body and it is just so simple to use.
Using the brush dry is still great as the bristles brighten up your skin loads and it is proven that this can help the colour of your skin too.
Using the brush wet is amazing. I use Radox Feel Gorgeous with Coconut Kiss. The smell is divine and because the brush is electric, it foams quite a bit and means I’m not breaking back scrubbing like I was with my mitts.
Overall, I was extremely impressed and as I said I never tried anything like this. It can be charged using the charger provided and can be reused over and over. Definitely worth your hard earned cash 🙂
The Body Shop Superfood Masks
These three masks were sent to me a few weeks ago and like all the products I get sent, I wanted to try them out at least three times before I gave my honest review 😉
The 3 masks I tried were
· Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask €25.00 – helps detox skin. This mask was exactly like Glam Glow Mud Mask and I couldn’t get over the similarities but it’s a fraction of the cost. The mask is a tingling charcoal clay mask which draws out impurities and absorbs any excess oil.
· British Rose Fresh Pumping Mask €25.00 – helps hydrate skin. This mask really helps rehydrate and re-plump this skin. The gel face mask is infused with real rose petals, rose essence, rosehip oil and organic Community Trade aloe vera.
· Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask €25.00 – Nourishing for skin. This mask is for skin that needs an intense dose of replenishing moisture. It smells really beautiful leaving your skin super nourished.
The masks are all made with 100% vegetarian ingredients with the Himalayan Charcoal, British Rose and Amazonian Acai masks being 100% vegan. All are formulated without parabens, paraffins, silicone or mineral oils.
Scholl Velvet Smooth Wet & Dry Foot File
Velvet Smooth Wet & Dry Foot File is rechargeable, cordless file that can be used dry or in the bath or shower. The roller head itself is designed so that you can use it wet and dry. The file buffs your skin to leave it feeling silky smooth. I have used it three times now and it literally leaves my feet so soft. I normally don’t like anything on my feet so I was skeptical at first but the minute I started the treatment, I was so impressed. I stand all day on my feet so this has really helped my skin. It’s a definite 10/10 for me with this and it’s well worth the money.
Instant Effects Lip Pumper
I am ALWAYS very wary of these kind of products, simply because it really just plumps your lips for what seems like 30 mins and then they are back to normal. Now maybe that is just me but they NEVER work for me. I was adamant to try this out as I had heard good reviews on it. It claims it won’t aggravate your lips or burn either. So I tried it out for myself to see and surely they were right. I definitely didn’t feel any burning which was great. Ok so it worked. I had fuller lips after the treatment, they were clearly larger than before but you need to keep reapplying for this to stay like this. In my case, I would need a bucket load to keep my lips fuller. I know it’s not lip fillers and my lips won’t permanently stay full but I do expect when you use a lip plumper that it stays for at least a few hours. So to me, this is just another lip plumper like any other. If a short term plumped lip is what you want then it’s fabulous. If you want to look like Kylie Jenner, then it’s not the answer for you.
Happy shopping 🙂
