Last week I had the beauty of heading along to try out the amazing new Venus Freeze treatment at Balance Medi Spa in Navan. I had actually heard great things about the salon before so I was really looking forward to trying out the treatment.
So what is it?
Venus Freeze is a non-invasive procedure that tightens and contours the skin. The treatment combines a magnetic pulse with a radio frequency. This treatment is exclusive to only a few salons in Ireland and is used by lots of celebrities worldwide on both their body and face. It is suitable for all skin types with results being skin tightening, fat reduction, cellulite reduction, wrinkle reduction and the minimising of stretch marks.
How does it work?
Marian talks me through the procedure before starting the treatment. I chose my stomach as the targeted area that I wanted to treat. Firstly she put on a gel all over my stomach, which helps the applicator glide on the surface of your skin. She used what looked like a roller ball machine to run over one side of my stomach. The radio frequency in the applicator heats up the tissue and stimulates the cells. The magnetic field directs the energy correctly to that area, so the energy goes exactly where you want it to work. She ensures throughout the treatment that my skin temperature is ranging from 43-45 degrees.
Is it safe?
Very safe. However like most treatments it has some medical limitations. Check with your therapist first before booking.
Any side effects?
My skin was quite red afterwards however it completely disappeared after one hour.
What were my thoughts on it?
As you can imagine, one treatment on the stomach isn’t going to do a huge amount but my skin definitely felt tighter and firmer after the treatment. I 100% know that if I done a course of them they would work wonders for the skin. The treatment can be quite hot on the skin at first however it then becomes extremely relaxing and more like a hot stone massage than a skin tightening treatment. I think I might keep them up and do a course of the treatments on my stomach to see the real benefits. I also definitely want to try it out on my face too.
What does Cara Delevingne say?
“My skin gets worse during the [fashion] shows because of all the traveling, so I prepare at the beginning of the season by having Venus Freeze Face Lift Facial, which zaps heat into your skin. You come out with plump skin because it helps to create collagen.”
I went along as a guest to the launch of Venus Freeze and the 1st Birthday of Balance Medi Spa a few weeks ago and it was a fantastic night. How beautiful is Pauline the owner of Balance Medi Spa?
