Whether you are off to a debs or a summer wedding we all want to look like Jessica Alba on the red carpet. Unfortunately we don’t all have personal stylists and makeup artists on hand. You have to pay for it all yourself. If you have the money to splash out great but if you feel you are up to the task of dolling yourself up here are a few top tips that may help.
For the tan, I personally think less is more. Take Rosie above as the perfect example of the ‘sun kissed’ look. The last thing you want is a tangerine body, blotchy hands and a huge contrast between your face and neck. Keep the tan natural. I love Karora mist tan, it comes out so golden and smells nice too.
And if you are lucky enough to have a natural tan after the summer why not just pop some instant tan over your natural tan to give it a little oomph. I highly recommend the bBold flawless leg makeup. It’s free from nasty chemicals and has vitamin E too so it nourishes your skin while giving you a flawless finish.
For makeup your foundation really is key because you want to be picture perfect all night. I recommend using a full coverage foundation such as Estee Lauder Doublewear. It literally doesn’t budge.
For a gorgeous red carpet glow add a few drops of MAC’s lustre drops to your foundation (make sure to mix together on a plate, don’t add straight to the bottle) to add warmth to the entire face. Add some bronzer and blush to the cheeks. Highlighter is an essential for that perfect Hollywood glow.
Make sure you also wear a primer under your eye shadow – my favourite is Urban Decay Primer Potion. For an eye shadow look bronze, gold’s and brown shadows are something that work on all eye colours and are not too harsh.
There are tons of amazing tutorials all over YouTube so be sure to have a look and see if you can find something you like and just copy it. And remember practice makes perfect so be sure to give a trial run with all the products before the big day.
The same goes for hair – there are so many fab tutorials out there for special occasions. All you need for the majority of them is some form of hot hair tool, elastics, bobby pins and lots of hair spray.
Hope this helps! Happy glamming!
