So yesterday me and my boyfriend, Andrew decided to chance our arm and see if there was a table available in Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant, Jamie’s Italian in Dundrum.
We went in to see and to our surprise there was a table free. The interior is exactly how I pictured, cool, chic and very kitchen like. It is really modern and funky. The kitchen is in full view of the customers which I think is definitely a good sign.
Our host brought us to our table and introduced us to our waiter. The waiter was so nice and gave us an in-depth of exactly what the special of the day was and how hot etc dishes were. This is one thing I really liked as I felt it was something personal that every restaurant should do.
We ordered nachos and a selection of Italian bread to start. The nachos were different than the ones I would normally eat and the waiter told us that these were the real nachos. They had cheese inside them. YUM! The bread was delicious. The bread is baked daily in the bakery and tasted so crispy and fresh.
For main, I ordered Penne Arabiata and Andrew ordered Prawn Linguini. The waiter told us that the Prawn Linguini is one of the most ordered dishes in all of Jamie’s restaurant’s. Both dishes did not fail to disappoint. I am not a huge lover of fish and I will admit the Prawn Linguini was very nice.
Overall, the resturant is top notch and I cannot wait to go back and try other dishes off the menu. The bill was also a nice surprise and very reasonable. It is definitely somewhere you NEED to try. I know that bookings are becoming rare and you need to book quick to get a dinner table.
