Today my 1st ever fashion column was printed in the Metro Herald. I was absolutely delighted to do it and given the option to write about whatever I wanted. I chose shoes of course as I am a big lover of the little beauties.
Here it is below for all you shoe addicts out there:
Judging by the bitter mornings lately, A/W has officially arrived. As much as we all don’t want to admit it, it’s fast approaching us and it is definitely time to put away those pretty flip-flops. For me, it is all about the shoe. September is like the unofficial month of new shoes. Off to school we strolled, year after year with our shiny brand-new shoes. I adore shoes and what girl doesn’t. This season shoes gradually “go down” from the pedestals of that incredibly high heel to the sharp pointed toe and pumps with a low elegant heel. Strong bold colours, fabric blocking and smooth leather are just three of the most fashionable materials this season.
Kurt Geiger London has done this to perfection. From this red suede pointed heel to this coloured blocking patent heel, it is all about the texture and colour. Brogues, loafers and the slipper inspired shoe are fast becoming the shoes of the season. This Nine West loafer (€120) will take your right through into S/S 13 with leopard becoming a focus next season also.
When it comes to heels the platform is still loved by designers and is relevant in both boots and heels this autumn/winter. Wedged boots are convenient and sleek. See by Chloe have a beautiful wedged boot (€310) in 3 different colours this season; rust, grey and black. They are a perfect way to update you’re A/W wardrobe.
Now is the time to buy that perfect boot with the stores are bursting with so many different shapes and styles. Acne is really storming ahead when it comes to that all important boot. The ‘Pistol’boot (€440) is an A-List must have for the stylish trendsetter. Wear them with skinny jeans or a pleated leather skirt and they will really finish off the look. Perfect for day or night, the Pistol is just a classic and so versatile. All shoes can be bought in BT2 Grafton St and Dundrum.
Hope you enjoy!
