It’s that time of the year girls where we have to get our little thinking caps on and get our festival wardrobe sorted. Through the many years of muck, wellies and disgusting toilet facilities, I think I finally have it cracked. Although Oxegen may not be on this year 🙁 their are many festivals still left for us to enjoy.
Boho chic is a clear favorite trend at festivals. It’s casual, laid back and funky. I love experimenting at festivals. It’s great to let loose and you should too. Don’t be afraid to experiment and dare to be different. Feather earrings, tribal paints, lashings of beads, clashing colours, multicolored nail varnish are just some of the fun things that you can try. After that good footwear and a jacket is KEY.
Rain sun or shine I think a little pair of denim shorts is a STAPLE at this stage. They look hot with wellies and if it rains your bare legs dry way quicker than a pair of jeans. Denim shorts are everywhere. Some of you may already have the perfect pair. Here is a couple I found that are just perfect. Make sure they have pockets too.
River Island €33
Forever 21 €19.75
Next up footwear…what is a pair of shorts without wellies/little pair of boots. Whether its a pair of Hunters or your favourite Topshop ankle boots, they make your legs look great. These are some of my favourites. These wedged hightops are out there and different but remember YOUR AT A FESTIVAL WHO CARES?
Forever 21 €28.75
Hunter Wellies range from €85-105 in BT2 Dundrum
A good jacket is also another key item to bring. The parka has been a huge favourite at festivals but with the come back of the “Barbour” jacket it is set to give it a run for its money.
Here is some other funky pieces I think would look amazing at this years festivals.
American Apparel Disco Pants €82
Forever 21 €6.90
Boohoo.com Louise Cross Denim hotpants €24
Love Label Playsuit €45
After you have the look sorted next up is the festival beauty bag. I know this is a HUGE FEAR a lot of people have and one of the reasons my friend Shereen refuses to go to festivals. She doesn’t like the “no shower experience” but hey guys were at a festival and this is part of the whole AMAZING experience.
Three No.1 ESSENTIALS are:
Make sure you choose a good tab that is WATERPROOF and will last you the whole weekend. A spray tan is always good but there is some great long-lasting tans out there now like Vita Liberta, St. Moritz (Penny’s best) and even Sally Hansen has a new waterproof one now.
This is definitely bound to help you get sorted for whatever festivals all you ladies are off to this Summer. I personally will be hitting Phoenix Park on the 7th July and Electric Picnic is a good runner also.
One things for sure PLANNING and EXPERIMENTING IS KEY!!
Here is some of my Festival photos from the past couple of year’s.
